A partially enameled terracotta teapot attributed to Christopher Dresser for Watcombe Torquay. Refined shape, decorated with strigils and flower motifs on the body, as well as ochre-gold lines framed by turquoise blue bands. Round knop and handle also in turquoise blue enamel.

Mark underneath "2448" and Watcombe Torquay stamp.

The Watcombe Torquay manufactory, founded in 1869, is known for its use of Devon red clay. The factory produced pieces for the famous designer Christopher Dresser between 1869 and 1880.
