Ceramic game terrines were particularly fashionable during the Victorian era. These representations of hunting trophies may seem peculiar today; however, these terrines illustrate Victorian conceptions of nature while marking a transition from the naturalistic style to the Art Nouveau movement. This terrine, signed by George Jones, was manufactured around 1860.
