Born in 1963, Piero Figura graduated in Architecture from the University of Rome. A multidisciplinary artist, he works across a wide range of media, including design, painting, sculpture and costume design. Drawing inspiration from Baroque art and Surrealism, he creates sculptural and theatrical works that transform everyday functional objects into true works of art. During the 1990s, he collaborated with Atena, designing several collections, including a series inspired by the marine world, of which this platter is a fine example.
