More info

This ensemble is a loose interpretation of a renowned tureen by Thomas Germain (1673–1748), the great Parisian silversmith of the Louis XV era. Germain’s work exemplifies the grandeur and refinement of 18th-century French goldsmithing. While not an exact replica, this piece pays homage to the opulence and ornamental brilliance of the French Rococo style. The original tureen is housed in the Getty Museum, Los Angeles.
