This fine earthenware table service from the Manufacture de Choisy-le-Roi France, late 19th century, was made in the spirit of the English Aesthetic Movement.
It consists of 68 pieces signed “HB, Choisy” and features a magnificent polychrome botanical decoration on white glazed earthenware.
This set includes 24 dinner plates, 24 dessert plates, 12 soup plates, 4 tall fruit bowls with stands, 2 raviers, and 2 jam dishes with fixed trays and lids.
This factory, founded in 1805 and made famous in the 19th century by Hippolyte Boulenger (who hired Louis Carrier-Belleuse as artistic director), won numerous awards at the World's Fairs.
Particularly interesting for collectors and tableware enthusiasts passionate about French earthenware.
