More info

Jacob Mardochée (1797- 1868), well known under the name of Jacob Petit since 1816. He was a famous french porcelain manufacturer, one of the students of the french painter Antoine Gros. He was at the head of the Fontainebleau Manufacture before only being dedicated to ornamental porcelain. His style, very recognizable with its vivid colors and its picturesque details, was decried throughout his lifetime because considered too exuberant. Nowadays, Jacob Petit is very valued because his style is now a typical testimony of a certain kind of 19th-century style, with wonderful know-how.
